The United Nations Global Compact is a strategic initiative that supports global companies that are committed to responsible business practices in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and corruption. This UN-led initiative promotes activities that contribute to sustainable development goals to create a better world.
We are proud to be formal signatories to the United Nations Global Compact, who support the Ten Principles Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
We are committed to implementing those principles within our organisation, to making the UN Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company, and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Ten Principals are:
Principle 1: Support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
Principle 2: Ensure that business practices are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Principle 3: Uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
Principle 4: Eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
Principle 5: Abolish child labour.
Principle 6: Eliminate discrimination in employment and occupation.
Principle 7: Adopt a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
Principle 8: Conduct environmentally responsible activities.
Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Principle 10: Fight corruption in all its forms including extortion and bribery.
